The web design service, page by page

What should a small business website include?

The pages a small business site needs, what each one has to do, and the things worth leaving out until you have a reason to add them.

Start with what a visitor needs to decide

A buyer arriving at your site wants to know what you do, whether you do it for people like them, roughly what it costs, and how to start. Every page should help with one of those, and the home page should help with all four.

The pages most small businesses need

A home page that says what you do in one sentence. A services page, or one page per service if you offer several distinct things. Proof, in the form of case studies, reviews or both. An about page that says who is behind the business and where it is. A contact page with a reply time you actually keep. And pricing, if you can publish it.

Things that quietly matter

Fast loading on a phone, readable text, clear buttons, a title and description for every page, and a form that actually reaches you. None of these shows in a design presentation, and all of them decide whether the site works.

What to leave out

A blog you will not keep up, a news page with one item from two years ago, and pages that exist only because a template had them. An empty section says more about you than a missing one.

Built so it can grow

Pages built from a shared set of components stay consistent as you add to them. Our web design service delivers that component set alongside the designs, and development builds it with templates your team can edit.
